Confey Montessori is a small, independent Montessori preschool based on the grounds of San Carlo School in Leixlip, Co. Kildare.

Developed by Dr Maria Montessori, an Italian physician and educator, the Montessori method is built on more than a century of careful observation of how children learn.
At its core, Montessori education trusts the child. It recognises that young children possess a natural drive to explore the world, to master skills, and to become independent. The role of the adult — the Montessori guide — is not to instruct but to prepare an environment where this drive can flourish, and to gently support each child's path through it.
Children learn at their own pace, choosing work that meets them where they are. The result: deep focus and intrinsic motivation.
Every material is chosen, ordered, and accessible. The classroom itself is the teacher — beautiful, purposeful, and child-sized.
Concrete, self-correcting materials let children discover concepts through their senses — building real understanding, not memorisation.
Younger children learn from older ones; older children deepen understanding by helping younger peers. Empathy grows alongside skill.
